Primate Training and Enrichment Workshop – 4.5 days
Location: Bastrop, Texas
Date: February 27-March 2, 2012
Co-developed and taught with instructors from M. D. Anderson Science Park and Yerkes Regional Primate Center, workshop is designed for zoo, laboratory, and sanctuary primate keepers, caregivers, curators, veterinarians, and investigators. Workshop presented by Active Environments and Shape of Enrichment, designed to teach the fundamentals of behavioral management for zookeepers, caregivers, and managers working with all exotic animals in zoos, sanctuaries, rescue centers, oceanariums, and aquariums. Designed for individuals who have attended the basic Primate Training and Enrichment Workshop or who have significant experience in positive reinforcement training with primates. Protected Contact Elephant Training and Enrichment Workshop – 4.5 days

Intensive course in protected contact training for keepers, managers, supervisors, and curators working with both Asian and African elephants. Curriculum focuses on the fundamentals and practical application of protected contact as a comprehensive system for the management of elephants through classroom instruction, discussion, group activities, and demonstrations with elephants and other species.
